Too bad, there isn't a simple way to get back to a vector file. If push comes to shove, you can always copy the file to Photopaint and then use its layer, layer transparency, blend modes, and especially its clip mask capability. Scroll down to view our rectangle PNG images with transparent background. If you just want the interior of the rectangle to be transparent, then all you need is tFill (Color.TRANSPARENT) but I'm not quite sure if this is what you mean. It would be even nicer if an object could have a Clip Mask as in Photopaint. One could then Select a portion of an object and make it transparent or semi-transparent. It would have made life a lot simpler if DRAW had a Selection tool similar to the one in Photopaint. It looks to me like Trim is the only way to get a hole in an object. The original object remains opaque.Īs far as I have been able to discover, there is no way to make a portion of the original object transparent if it started life as a single object. Unfortunately, it only makes the new rectangle transparent. You can then make it transparent in one way or another. You can draw a rectangle over the original object. And there lies the problem with both my first post, your post, and why Jules is in trouble.
